One thousand euros extra in your pocket and 60 kg less plastic for the planet. This would be the result each year of replacing bottled water consumption with filtered tap water. Sandra Molas, sales manager at 11Onze, explains how we can start to reduce fixed costs thanks to a new 11Onze product line of which Tapp Water filters are the first example.

Sandra Molas, sales manager at 11Onze, introduces, in this podcast, the Tapp Water water filters that are now available at 11Onze`s website. This is the first product in a new range called Essentials, which will be appearing in the 11Onze Marketplace “to help people save on essential expenses”, according to Molas.

The 11Onze sales manager calculates that bottled water consumption for a family of four “is almost 3,000 litres a year”, which means “an annual cost, if you buy bottled water, of at least 1,000 euros”. And you must add to this the “60 kg of plastic” off the planet that the 2,000 1.5-litre bottles represent.

The Tapp Water filter, which is made of 70% coconut shell, captures up to 100 substances present in tap water, including heavy metals, and “the taste of water changes noticeably”, according to Molas. From the Essentials‘ section at 11Onze, you can now buy the tap water filter with a year’s supply of refills for €79.99.

A shower kit is also available at 11Onze website for €49.99. This second filter is designed for adults and children who have “delicate skin”, as “filtering out heavy metals helps to reduce itching”, as the sales manager of 11Onze explains, and also to save on shampoo and soap.

Savings, health and environment

In the interview, Sandra Molas also warns of the risk to our health posed by the particles that are released from water bottles due to the heat to which they can be subjected to during storage and transport: “When these plastics are heated, they release micro-particles into the water and you drink this water. And no one can tell if the container you drink from has been “in a sunny place”.

“We are talking about savings, we are talking about health and we are talking about the environment,” Molas concludes.
